From Ballerina to Fitness Coach

Hi! I’m Kara, an owner of Studio Fitness, Certified Personal Trainer, Ballet Instructor, and former professional ballerina with the Miami City Ballet. I grew up in Vermont and I am excited to return home to bring my joy of fitness and living a healthy lifestyle to the area.

How it all started

My passion for health and wellness was instilled early. I was fortunate enough to begin working with a trainer at a young age. In the process, I learned how physical, emotional, and mental discipline can benefit all aspects of life. As a child, I wanted to be a professional ballerina, and my trainer helped me to achieve that dream.

At age 17, I moved to Miami on my own to make my dreams come true. Throughout my career, I incorporated yoga, pilates, as well as strength training into my cross-training regimen to keep my body both strong and mobile. I believe in a holistic approach to fitness and wellness, using functional training with a strong focus on core strength and stabilization, not just bicep curls and the Stairmaster.  

In the era of social media, blogs, and Youtube it has never been easier to learn from amazing coaches that at one point were simply unreachable. The flip side to that coin is there are A LOT of “experts” that take nice pictures and look great in their workout gear but really have no idea how to help someone make a meaningful change in their life truly.

Throughout my career, I have worked with hundreds of people, from all walks of life, to help them reach their goals. In working with so many different people, I have learned a great deal and can share my experiences with you.  As different as we all are, we are also all very similar. There are key principles that with help anyone (including you) move in a positive direction towards their goals.

My Philosophy

I am committed to creating regimens designed specifically to meet each individual’s needs. My approach involves implementing an innovative and demanding workout to encourage clients to continually challenge themselves, whether you are in my class or with me individually.

I encourage people to workout, not just to look good, but to feel mentally, emotionally and physically strong. Whether you’re just starting out, or want to be a professional at your sport, I believe I have the determination,  compassion, and ability to deliver the results you want. I am grateful for the opportunity to share my knowledge and experiences to make a positive impact on so many lives.
